I know every year about this time we wonder, where did the year go!?
I can vividly remember this time last year, thinking of 2012 and how great it was going to be and what was going to lie ahead and now, it’s come and gone.
I am now officially over the Christmas music on every station and so done with the long lines and stressed out people at every store; I can’t bear to look at another piece of wrapping paper, let alone my once bright and cheery Christmas tree, which is now a more greenish-brown and losing a needle a minute but besides all of that I definitely will miss the Christmas cheer, the extra happy people and the sense of family this time of year.
As I look back over the year, I wonder, was it what I expected?
Did I accomplish all I wanted?
Did my resolutions stick or did they fizzle a quarter of the way through?
I can say overall it was a great year, nothing too crazy or over dramatic but a steady incline.
I received a promotion at my job, my husband and I happily celebrated our 2 year anniversary, we had our first ‘family’ camping trip and you can say it was a success (meaning no one got kicked out of their tent or was eaten by a bear!)
God has been great and has blessed us this year, not with money or material things but with lots of great memories and that is all I could ask for.
What about you?
Have you reflected back over this past year and if so, was it everything you expected and more?
Did you set goals and stick to them?
Are you in a better place now than you were last year? If not, why?
What could you have done differently and what will you do differently this year to come?
I’d love to hear about your journey this past year, the memories you’ve created, the lessons you’ve learned and the trials and triumphs you had to face, so please share your journey in the comments below.
I pray, even if this year was great, that next year would be even better.
Happy New Year and God Bless!
It’s very tough to reflect on the entire year because life is full of so many ups and downs. We can chose to focus on the downs, or be grateful for the ups. I can truly say one very important thing; God blessed us with family, good health, a home, and food to eat. What more can we ask for? We did lose some close friends to tragedy but are now resting in the hands of the Lord. I can only pray that this next year brings us those same blessings….minus the tragedy 😦 , but most of all I pray that God grants me the patience and the heart to be a better person than I was this past year.

Thank you Jackie for sharing and I’m sorry to hear about the loss you had in 2012. You are right though, it’s your choice as to what you will focus on and although losing a loved one is never easy or pleasant we still have to hold strong and remember all the blessings that we have. I pray that 2013 is filled only with happiness for you ad your beautiful family and that all your tears are only tears of joy!
