“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” -Albert Einstein
How many times do we continue to do the same things, the same way and continue to remain in the same place and then wonder why?
Whether it’s in our careers, our finances, our health, or our relationships; if you continue to use the same shovel that dug your very own hole, you’re just going to continue to go deeper and deeper.
Our creative mind and imagination is so underused and underestimated, we reserve it only for daydreaming from time to time but we don’t realize the power of coming up with creative solutions to our very own problems.
If you’re unhappy in your career should you continue to moan and groan and keep the same attitude that made you unhappy and just hope that your dream job will land in your lap? Or a should you change your attitude, be open to new opportunities and take steps to move you forward – you may even come to find that your job isn’t so bad just your attitude towards it was.
What about your finances, you can’t expect to continue on with the same habits that got you into debt if you want to get ahead right? So why not adopt a new method, maybe a new means of saving, or a new way to bring in more income, the ideas and possibilities are endless.
What about relationships, do you continue to end up in the same unfulfilling relationships time and time again? Maybe it’s time for a different approach or better yet a different outlook on you and your self-worth?
It doesn’t just stop there; this applies to every part of our lives where we either feel stuck, helpless or unhappy.
Our actions and thinking created the circumstances we are in but it’s also those same things that can change them.
Break free of the traditions, the comfort and the mind set of ‘this is the way it’s always been’ and create a new way.
Dream more, think big, or find other people who have been successful at it and adopt some of their methods.
I’ve come to find that’s it’s often an accumulation of little changes that have the greatest impact.
I have dealt with all three scenarios listed above and they all included changing my outlook and changing my attitude, it’s still a work in progress but I’m amazed how much my circumstances have changed for the better simply by thinking differently (and trusting in God of course.)
So I challenge you to throw out the blueprints that have designed your way of thinking and design a bigger better plan that will one day be a strong and beautiful infrastructure.
Are there areas in your life currently where you feel stuck?
