“I’ll Pray for You”

I have been experiencing the power of prayer lately in amazing ways, not only in my own personal life but with those around me as well.

I never really understood or grasped what prayer really was until I started studying and meditating on scripture and surrounding myself with godly people.

I feel it’s important to touch on what it really means when someone…no, I take that back not just someone but when a true ‘godly’ person prays for you.

We’ve all grown up hearing people constantly say, “I’ll pray for you” or “I’ll keep you in my prayers” or “You’re in our thoughts and prayers” usually after you’ve lost a loved one or have had a tragic event happen in your life. It’s almost become so automatic that it’s like someone saying “How are you?” when they really don’t care about the answer.

So what does it mean when a true Christian says “I’ll pray for you”?

I’ve recently experienced this in my own personal life; struggling with how to be the wife I need to be as well as the woman that God wants me to be, I thought I’d take it prayer to get some answers. So thats what I did, I prayed and prayed and prayed some more but I didn’t feel like my prayers were being heard, then something told me it wasn’t enough; this was bigger than me and I needed to reach out, so I did. I contacted other godly woman, some older, some my age, some younger and asked for their prayers as well.

There is one thing I’ve come to know, when you ask a godly person to pray for you – they are going to pray for you; they’re not going to think about it or get around to it, they are going to stop what they’re doing and pray for you! Then after you think they’re done praying for you, they are going to pray for you some more and then weeks may go by or even months and they will still be praying for you, you may have even forgotten that you asked for prayer when all of sudden, you realize your prayer has been answered!

Not only did this happen to me but I’ve also been watching this very thing happen to my friends and family around me and I feel bad almost for saying this but I get excited when they have troubles and need me to pray for them, not because I like seeing them struggle but I know the Lord is going to work miracles in their life and I get to be a teeny tiny part of it.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. (James 1:2-4 NLT)

We are so used to keeping things to ourselves and praying privately in our own homes or quietly in our own head, hoping that God hears us and answers our prayers but sometimes it takes a lot more than that, sometimes it takes an army of people to speak on your behalf and it’s an amazing feeling not only to be surrounded by such amazing support but to look back and see your prayer answered in a way you couldn’t even have imagined.

Now I can look at troubles and trials differently, sure they still hurt and they are still hard but I know my God is bigger than all of it.

So I encourage you to take full advantage of prayer, there are endless things you can pray for but it’s not to be done alone, the Bible says to ask others to pray for you, someone who is strong in their faith and even if you don’t know how to pray or what to pray for they can help guide you. (James 5:16)

It’s one of the most powerful, amazing tools that God has given us and I don’t think we use it enough and the great thing is, it’s available to anyone.

Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! (Psalms 116:2 NLT)

If you are in need of prayer please let me know and I will pray for you, if you feel comfortable enough sharing in the comments below please leave your request and I would ask that anyone reading it would pray for you as well. It would be amazing to be a part of how God answers your prayers.

I ask for your prayers with this blog, that God would continue to use me to inspire, encourage and uplift those reading it.

Thank you for visiting, God bless.

I’m so thankful that this post touched you in some way, sometimes we need just a lol’ reminder to let us know God is at work.

“Father I ask that you would bring comfort to T. and that you would give her strength to endure whatever trial she is going through. She may not see the reasons now but you promised to work only good for those who believe in you…may she Believe. In Jesus’ name, Amen.” God Bless.

Amen! Prayer is such an awesome privledge that The Lord has given to us as his children.
And I love that nobody can escape ur prayers. They can stop talking to us or not want to be around us but they can’t stop us from going to our Heavenly Father on their behalf!

    Love this. Thanks Nita!
