“Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”‭‭ Matthew‬ ‭6:19-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Father, your word and your love and your greatness are the only treasures I want to seek. Forgive me when I set my eyes or thoughts on material things; on things that are here one moment and gone the next. These things I may desire but they don’t desire or love me back.   

Forgive me when I allow these ‘things’ to distract me, consume me or replace my relationship you. There is no item, amount of money, success, or beauty that can ever replace the satisfaction I receive from your love. 

Father, I thank you for the many blessings and favor you’ve poured upon my life and I’m thankful for the things we do have. Please help me to keep a clear perspective and know that the things that we have are temporary and fleeting. Keep me from putting my trust and hope in them. Help me to use all that I have as a tool to help others and not myself; to further your kingdom and not not mine. Help me to store my treasures in heaven and I pray that I would only have a desire for you. 

Thank you once again for your word, your guidance and wisdom.
