Do you ever feel inadequate?
Whether it’s being a wife or mother or friend; do you find yourself in moments of doubt?
Do you feel like you’re not doing enough or even when you are doing much, it still doesn’t feel good enough?
I face this battle from time to time within myself as a wife, as a stepmom and even sometimes as a woman.
I didn’t grow up with a solid foundation or example as to what a great marriage consisted of or what a ‘godly’ wife or woman looked like and so I struggle with reaching that perfect picture in my head of what I imagine ‘her‘ (you know – that perfect woman with the perfect marriage, kids and life) to be like.
I think a lot of woman struggle with this same thing. We all have that perfect ‘woman’ in our head whom we place on a pedestal.
That’s why it was such a calling on my heart to start this blog, because as women we face so many different challenges and struggles than men. Not to say men don’t deal with these struggles too but women are more emotional creatures; we often make decisions based on feelings and emotions where men tend to use more logic and facts.
Us women need to be reminded that we are ADEQUATE and we are ENOUGH and that that perfect woman does not exist!
We need to be reminded that no marriage is perfect and when we miss a day of laundry or are just too tired to do dishes that – it’s ok!
We need to know that when we argue with our spouse or have a falling out, that it’s not the end of the world. If you allow it, it can be a great opportunity to grow in your marriage.
We need to know when our child rebels or no longer wants to spend time with us that we’re not a horrible parent.
We need to know that if we’re not where we want to be, we’re right where God has us and who can argue with that!
It comes down to replacing the image of ‘her’ with the image of God.
Although I wasn’t given a perfect example of life growing up, I have that perfect example in Christ.
His word is an instruction book for our life and how we are to handle all that life is going to throw at us; through Him, we are enough…we are perfect.
I know I’m not the only one who faces this, so come on, share in the comments below; I always love hearing your life experiences.
Thank you for visiting and God Bless!

This is such an important message!! Far too many people pursue that image of perfection that is so illusive because it just doesn’t exist in this world. You are wise beyond your years and have truly been given a gift from God. Thank you for sharing your spiritual journey with us💕 In God I find my peace, just as I am.
