Father, thank you for all the blessings and even the hardships I’ve endured throughout 2015.  

As I reflect back I see how your hand was in everything and your presence was everywhere. I see how you lifted me up, showered me with your grace and blessed me and my family with your goodness. I also see how in the times of struggle, doubt and despair you were their through it all; molding me, strengthening and renewing my soul. 

Forgive me for the times I turned from you, the times I lost focus of you and replaced it with a focus on me. Forgive me for the days of distractions and temptations which led me astray. Forgive me for the times when I lost my patience; for the times I was unloving and unkind. 

I pray and ask that in this New Year you would strengthen me in the areas I am weak; I pray that you would hold me up with your righteous right hand and prepare me for what the year is to bring. I welcome the blessings but I know that trials are inevitable but also necessary for my growth. Therefore, equip me with a steadfast spirit, a loving and forgiving heart and courage and boldness to stay strong in the faith through whatever is to come. 

Help me to remember how magnificent and powerful you are and how through you, all things are possible. 

Please go before me in this New Year and prepare the way.
