Meditation Monday: Gifts From God

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.”‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:6-8‬ ‭

Father God, thank your for your mighty hand and the wondrous blessings and gifts you’ve given to each one of us.

Just like every drop in the sea equals a vast ocean, our gifts serve a much greater purpose which is to give glory and praise to you.

Forgive me when I keep my gifts hidden and/or shrug them off as unimportant, just as your word says “no one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket”. (Matthew 5:16)

On days when I’m tired, weary, distracted, and/or just plain lazy give me the encouragement and motivation to share my gifts enthusiastically and wholeheartedly. Never let me forget the price that was paid for these precious gifts.

Please go before me Lord and prepare the way, reveal to me ways to share my gifts with those who need them most. I pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.

(Meditation Monday: These scriptures and prayers are intended to give you encouragement for the day and week. The Lord tells us to meditate in His word day and night (Joshua 1:8) so read the scripture, pray the prayer and meditate as you wait for Him to speak to you.)
