It Is Finished

As I reflect on the significance of today, I’m flooded with so many emotions.

Such a bittersweet reflection to just meditate on the fact that God came down to this Earth in human form; that He left the most glorious of places – Heaven – to come down to this miserable and lowly planet in order to save You – to save Me.

I’m also reminded of price he paid for us – the ridicule, the betrayal, the temptations and ultimately his torture and death

It’s hard enough for me to be nice to people who hurt or offend me – I couldn’t imagine dying for them!? But He did.

And in return, all that He asks of us is that we love Him above all else and that we share His love with the world.

Really Lord? You paid a debt that I could not pay, died a death I should have died and that’s all you ask of me??

Yet, even this at times is hard; even after all of this I still fall short.

In this reflection I realize – Oh’ Lord how I need you.

The Lord suffered and died, not so we wouldn’t ever have a need for him again   – in fact, he wants us to rely on him more than ever!  He wants us to know him on an even deeper level and truly understand the magnitude of His love for us.

How great is our GOD!

Stop & Reflect: Have you truly mediated on the price the Lord paid for you and the depths of his love?

If you haven’t, stop what you’re doing and give him the praise he so deserves.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for the wonderful, priceless gift of salvation. You suffered so that we wouldn’t have to and we now have the hope of eternal life.

Forgive me Father for being so weak and easily led astray. Help me to keep this truth in the forefront of my mind. Help me to remember my purpose on this Earth and give me the strength and discipline to see it through.

I pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.

Thank you for visiting, God bless.

So true, absolutely bittersweet, thank you Jesus for suffering and dying on the cross so that I and other sinners could have the chance of eternal life with Our Father in heaven. In Jesus name I pray, Amen ✨
