Meditation Monday: Beauty from Within

“Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.”(‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Father God, I come before you today, at a time in our culture where outward appearance is everything. Where beauty is skin deep, and the more ‘things’ you have is what determines our status, value and worth. But to you Lord, to you these things are considered worthless, not worth even considering.  These outward things and material items vanish in an instant, that’s why it’s our hearts your after.

Father, I pray you would help me to find that gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to you. I know it’s there, it’s just covered up by piles and piles of worldly stress and anxiety and worry. All the things you tell us to put off.

Forgive me for being so loud and chaotic on the inside. Take my heart Lord and tansform my spirit; clothe me with strength and dignity and beauty from within.

Thank you for making me so precious in your sight. It’s your grace and mercy and sacrifice that gives me the desire to quiet my spirit and please you.

I pray in Jesus name – Amen.

(Meditation Monday: These scriptures and prayers are intended to give you encouragement for the day and week. The Lord tells us to meditate in His word day and night (Joshua 1:8) so read the scripture, pray the prayer and meditate as you wait for Him to speak to you.)

Thank you for visiting, God bless.
