“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 NLT
Father God, I come before you on this solemn Memorial Day weekend. As we remember and pay tribute to those who laid down their lives for our freedom – freedom that comes at a very high price.
I pray for those who are away from their families, fighting for our freedom. May you strengthen and protect them Lord. I pray for the families who are mourning those they lost, may you comfort them and heal their pain.
Lord, may I never forget the privileges and the freedom that you have blessed me with. Please keep me from being ungrateful of all that I have; help me to never take this freedom for granted.
Most importantly Father, help me to remember the ultimate price you paid for my sin; You laid down your life for ME so that I could be free from all the shame and guilt that had a hold of me. Thank you for this gift; the gift of eternal life – eternal freedom.
There is no greater love than this.
So many are imprisoned by sin, shame and guilt and are in need of you. Please go before me this week Lord and give me the courage and boldness to share your love with the world.
I pray in Jesus’ name – Amen.
(Meditation Monday: These scriptures and prayers are intended to give you encouragement for the day and week. The Lord tells us to meditate in His word day and night (Joshua 1:8) so read the scripture, pray the prayer and meditate as you wait for Him to speak to you.)
Thank you for visiting, God bless.
