“We love because he first loved us.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NIV

‬‬Heavenly Father, thank you for making me your first love and for giving me the framework and foundation for pure, unconditional LOVE. 

Even though I am unworthy, you love me with a love that is patient and kind (1 Cor 13:4); with a love that never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures all things. (1 Cor 13:7) 

Your love was on full display when you sent your Son to die in my place. 

I pray for a world that has lost its first love; a world that has gone astray and has turned cold and bitter. I pray you would melt those hearts that have hardened and return them back to you. Help them to experience pure, unfailing love. 

Teach me how to love like you, Lord. May my heart overflow with your Holy Spirit and may I always make You my first love.
