“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Heavenly Father, You are my strength and my courage. You are my light in the darkness and my calm in the storm. Thank you for Your unfailing love and unwavering mercy and grace. My soul knows it can put its trust fully in You. There is no place I can go where You are not already there.
Forgive me Lord, when I allow myself to be overcome by fear and overwhelmed by life. Forgive me when I let worry and anxiety creep into my heart. Forgive me when I disobey Your command to be “strong and courageous”. I know this can only be done when I am walking closely with You; without You I am weak.
I pray for those who crippled by fear and for those who are filled with worry and doubt. I pray for those who don’t know Your strength and power and instead, rely on their own. I pray they would seek You and find You, and that You would break them free from the fears holding them captive.
Please go before me this week, Lord. Point out any areas in my life where I am fearful or dismayed. Help feed my faith and not my fears. Provide me with the strength of Your Holy Spirit to be strong and courageous in all that I face this week. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
(Meditation Monday: These scriptures and prayers are intended to give you encouragement for the day and week. The Lord tells us to meditate in His word day and night (Joshua 1:8) so read the scripture, pray the prayer and meditate as you wait for Him to speak to you.)
Thank you for visiting, God bless.
