Meditation Monday: Let Your Roots Grow Deep

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians‬ ‭2:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Heavenly Father, You are the cultivator of my heart. You water, nurture and tend to my soul so that my roots can grow deep down into You.

I know this process isn’t always easy. I know there are times when trimming and tilling is required for my soul to flourish. Please help me to remain patient in the pruning. Remove all the dead leaves and branches; remove the things that are draining energy and keeping me from being fruitful. Help my roots to grow strong so when the winds of life come blowing through, I will not be shaken.

I pray for those whose roots are dry and brittle and for those whose soul longs to be watered by You. Come into their parched lives and replenish their soul.

As I face a new week, help me to grow strong in the truth I’ve been taught. My soul overflows with thankfulness as I think of how far You have brought me. Continue to tend to my heart, Lord. Help me to know You more each and every day. Replenish my soul with Your Holy Spirit and may my life be a testimony to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
