“But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.” 2 Timothy 4:5 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, thank you for Your Word and the goodness that it overflows with. Everything I need to know about You is there; everything I need to know about life, love, suffering, pain, happiness, joy, peace, etc. is in Your Word. It’s the air my soul needs and with every breathe of Your truth I breathe in, I am more alive than ever before. Your Word helps me see clearly through the thick fog of filth in this world; it’s the one true North that always brings me home.

Forgive me, Lord when I neglect Your Word. Forgive me when I am not being filled with Your knowledge. I know my work is in vain if it is without You. I know You have given each one of us our own unique ministry, whether it be in our home, at work, through writing, speaking, teaching, and/or leading, there are so many ways for us to share Your truth with others. You have equipped each one of us with every gift and tool needed to carry it out. Forgive me when I let fear of what others will think or doubts as to whether I am “good” enough, get in the way of serving You.

I pray You would give me the discipline and focus required to seek You daily. Help me to overcome the temptations and cares of this world so I may serve You wholeheartedly. I ask that You bless the work of my hands and feet, Lord. Give me wisdom and knowledge and a clear mind in all that I do. May all that I do be done for You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
