Meditation Monday: Don’t Worry About Tomorrow

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” Matthew 6:34 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, thank you for this precious day you have given me.  Thank you for the air in my lungs and the blood flowing through my veins. Thank you for going before me and being present in each and every moment. Help me to rejoice in this day.

Forgive me when I am filled with worries about tomorrow. Forgive me when my heart is troubled and unsettled. Forgive me when I’m too busy looking toward tomorrow to enjoy the blessings of today. Help me Lord to rest in You. Help me to be fully present in this moment and enjoy the season I am in instead of worrying about the ones to come.

Father, I pray for those who are consumed about tomorrow’s cares. I pray for those who are missing out on the blessings and grace You want to pour over them today. I pray You would get their attention and help them to be present and focused on You in this moment.

Lord, please go before me this week. Help me to fix my gaze upon You. Help me to settle in Your arms and trust that tomorrow is taken care of. Allow me to enjoy these precious moments with my family and my spouse and the blessings You have poured out. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
