Meditation Monday: Fullness of Joy

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalms‬ ‭16:11‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)

Heavenly Father, You are the one true essence of joy. My soul never knew the pure meaning of joy until I surrendered it over to You. In Your presence there is not simply a feeling of joy; it is Joy in it’s purest and truest form. It does not mean a life without trials or pain, but it does mean no matter what waters I might be walking through or storms I might be facing, as long as I am in Your presence, my soul is at peace.

I know it’s only when I’m in Your presence, when I’m seeking You out, and when I’m spending intimate time with You, is when You make known to me the path of life. I recognize when I’ve strayed off course because my soul becomes anxious and worried. Forgive me Lord, when I allow myself to get to that point.  Draw me back to Your shores when I am lost at sea. Please don’t ever let me wander from Your presence.

I pray for those who have never experienced Your fullness of joy and for those who have wandered away and are being tossed about by the waves of this world. I pray they would throw their hands up in surrender and allow You to overflow their hearts with joy. I pray You would give them peace in their soul and a longing to rest in You.

Lord, please go before this week and make known to me the path. Please give me wisdom and discernment in all that I do. Keep from those things that keep me from seeking and spending time with You. Reveal Your presence to me and give me a fresh filling of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
