Meditation Monday: A Prayer For Patience

“Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!” Psalms‬ ‭27:14‬ ‭(NKJV)

‬‬Heavenly Father, You are full of wisdom and truth. In a world that views “hustle” and “busy” as a normal part of our everyday life, You teach us the complete opposite. You give us words like “wait” “patience” and “stillness”.

Psalms 46:10 tells us to be still and know that You are God.” Psalms 37:7 directs us to “rest in the Lord” and James 1:4 says we are to “let patience have its perfect work.”

You knew long before that our anxious hearts would grow weary. You knew long before that we would need direction in this area of our lives. I am guilty of growing weary and becoming impatient in my faith. I am guilty of doing things my way and in my timing, instead of waiting and resting in You.

We have world that is restless and weary; consuming every minute of their lives with busyness and worry. We have a world in desperate need of You. I pray for those, myself included, who are overwhelmed and faint of heart. Strengthen our hearts Lord. You have given us full permission to rest, help us to know and wait upon You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
