Heavenly Father, I lift up this day to You and ask that You speak to my heart Lord. Help me to hear the gentle and quiet whisper of Your voice. I praise You for Your greatness and power. You are the God who created the heavens and the earth but You are not those things. You are not the wind or the fire or the sea — You are a gentle and loving Father who longs to speak to our souls. You long to walk and talk with us and to have a relationship with us. Your desire is to know us and for us to know You. Help me to know You more.

I pray for those who don’t know You at all and for those who perceive You as cruel and intolerable. Help them to see Your mercy and grace and unfailing love. Help them to feel the comfort of Your presence and hear the gentleness of Your voice. Wrap them in the loving arms of the Father.

Lord, please go before this day and this week. Help me to delve deeper into Your lovingkindness and reveal Yourself to me in new ways. Give me a fresh filling of Your Holy Spirit and give me ears to hear Your gentle and quiet voice. In Jesus’ name, amen.
