Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit you’ve given us; a gift given to those who put their hope and trust in You. Thank you for sending us a helper to lead us, to guide us and to speak truth into our lives. You knew we couldn’t walk this faith journey alone. You knew we’d be tempted and enticed by the enemy; You knew our deceptive hearts would misguide us; You knew, like little lambs, we’d be led astray. Thank you for not leaving us to do it alone.

How often I take this gift for granted. I have Your Holy Spirit residing inside of me, ready to plead with You on my behalf yet, I often choose to do things on my own.

I seek Your will — on my own.

I seek Your purpose — on my own.

I seek Your voice — on my own.

Forgive me Lord, for neglecting the power of the Holy Spirit. Please help me surrender my will in exchange for Yours. Continue to work in and through me by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help me to be obedient and patient as You mold and shape and align me with Your perfect plan. In Jesus’ name, amen.
