“Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.” Psalms‬ ‭127:3-4‬

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of children. Thank you for allowing each one of us the opportunity to raise up future men and women who will know, love, and serve You.

Whether we are parents, stepparents, foster parents, adoptive parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. we all have an impact and influence on these precious little lives You have entrusted us with.

Help me to see the children in my life as arrows, Lord. Help me to sharpen them with Your word of truth and set their aim on Your saving grace and everlasting life. Keep them protected from the schemes of the enemy; give them strength and courage when faced with fear; give them comfort and peace in times of sorrow and fill them with joy and gladness in all of their days.

Please go before me this week Lord, I pray for wisdom and discernment in the decisions that I make, which impact the children in my life. Help me to live a life that displays Your love and goodness to them. Help me to be the archer that propels them towards Your heavenly Kingdom. May they grow up praising Your name and one day, raising arrows of their own. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
