Meditation Monday: Make Thankfulness Your Sacrifice

“Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High. Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory.”” Psalms‬ ‭50:14-15‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

Heavenly Father, thank You for being such a loving God. Thank You for freedom from sin and for the hope of eternal life. Thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who paid a debt I could never pay. Thank You for Your word which guides me through the darkness and for Your promises which fill me with joy. Thank You for the air that I breathe and the blood flowing through my veins. All You have to do is speak a word and I would turn to back dust but instead, You desire to know me; You desire a relationship with a sinner like me.

I am so unworthy, Lord. I am guilty of not counting my blessings and taking You for granted. I am guilty of “working” towards Your love and going through the motions rather than surrendering my heart over to You.

Please go before me this week, Lord. Reveal Your mercy and kindness to me. Show me how to live a life of continual sacrifice. One of praise and thankfulness to You, a God who is loving and kind, one who will never abandon me, and the one who rescues me in times of trouble. Thank You for Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
