Meditation Monday: God Hears My Prayers

“but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” Psalm‬ ‭66:19-20‬ ‭(NIV‬‬)

Heavenly Father, praise be to Your name. Thank You for Your unfailing love. Thank You Lord for bending Your ear to hear my prayers (Psalm 116:2). Thank You for drawing near to me as I draw near to You (James 4:8). Over the years You have heard the cries of my heart. You know every thought and desire that resonates deep within me. Every prayer that I have asked, You have answered. It may not always be the answer I would like but nevertheless, You know what’s best and I trust in You.

Forgive me when I’m guilty of being unhappy with Your answer. Forgive me when I question Your goodness and accuse You of withholding things from me. I’m so thankful for those closed doors and the desires You did not grant. If I had it my way, I’d be in a world of trouble and sorrow. I pray for those who are in this place of dissatisfaction right now. I pray for those who have been praying and asking for something specific and feel as if You are not listening. Remind them Lord, of Your promise to never leave or forsake them. Help them to feel Your presence near and give them comfort in the waiting.

I pray You would do the same for me Lord. You know the petitions of my heart. I have poured my heart out to You and I ask, in this season of waiting, that you give me peace and patience. I ask Lord, whatever the final answer may be, give me a spirit of contentment. Help me to remain faithful and steadfast; help me to remember all of the answered prayers in the past and may I find rest in that. In Jesus’ name, amen.
