Meditation Monday: In God I Trust

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise— in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm‬ ‭56:3-4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Lord, You are my place of safety and security. You are my refuge from the storm and my quiet in the chaos. When I am afraid or full of fear and doubt in You, I find renewal for my soul. I trust in You with my whole being — what can mere mortals do to me? You are a God who is for me and as Your word says “If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Help me to find comfort in this truth during those seasons of trials and testing. When I am tempted to worry or am fearful of what others think or say or do, help me to feed my faith and not my fears.

I lift up those who continually live in fear — fear of others, fear of failure, fear of rejection, the list goes on. Help them to find freedom from fear in You. Teach them how to live a life of peace and joy and happiness. Help them to cast their burdens upon You, Lord. Help them to take up Your yoke which is easy in comparison to the pain that they carry. (Matthew 11:30)

I pray You would go before me this week. Point out any areas where I may be fearful or afraid. Give me a fresh filling of Your Holy Spirit and give me a spirit of power, love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:6). In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.

This is exactly what I needed to hear today, thank you for this reminder. Fear comes from the enemy. Francesca Battistelli has a great new song titled “The Breakup Song” about breaking up with fear. It’s an awesome song with great message. Thank you for these beautiful words my friend 🌸
