“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.” Psalms 1:2-3 NASB
Heavenly Father, thank you for Your precious word which is truth and life. You have given us a beautiful love letter which reveals Your hopes and desires for each of us. It is alive and active and sharper than a double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It has pierced my heart and changed my life forever. Your word teaches, guides, directs, and protects me (2 Timothy 3:16). It illuminates my path, it gives me wisdom, and it provides nourishment for my soul. (Psalm 119:105; Matthew 7:24; Matthew 4:4)
Your word is available to all, yet so few realize the power within it. Even I am am guilty of neglecting this truth. Instead of turning to Your word for comfort and strength, I allow my flesh to consume me. I complain, become anxious and allow seeds of negativity to sprout. Father forgive me for not meditating on Your word day and night. Forgive me for not soaking up all of Your wisdom and knowledge and truth. Forgive me when my leaves have withered and gone dry.
Please go before me this week. Help me to meditate on Your word daily. Give me a fervent desire to seek You. Replenish my parched and dry soul with Your living water so I may yield good fruits in due season. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
