“Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.” Psalm 115:1 (NIV)
Heavenly Father, to Your name be the glory. You are the God who created heaven and earth. You spoke and the world came into existence. You created man from the dust in the ground and breathed life into him (Gen. 2:7). You set the stars in sky and the earth in its axis. Everything exists because of You — I exist because of You.
Father forgive me when I lose sight of Your greatness. Forgive me when I try to fit You inside of “my world” and within the confines of my walls. Forgive me when I lift my name up rather than Yours.
When I reflect on Your holiness and majesty, I realize how weak and insignificant I am. I can do nothing of importance apart from You. I bow down in humility and in awe of Your greatness. Today, I ask for nothing other than to walk closer with You and to know You more intimately. Help me to feel Your presence Lord and to be aware of Your Holy Spirit. Help me to live out each day giving glory to the Lord Almighty. May my life be a testament of Your faithfulness and Your unfailing love towards all of humanity. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
