“GOD ’s a safe-house for the battered, a sanctuary during bad times. The moment you arrive, you relax; you’re never sorry you knocked.” Psalm 9:9-10 MSG
Heavenly Father, You are our place of refuge. When the storms of life kick up, under Your wings we find safety and shelter (Psalm 91:4). When life has left me beaten and bruised I can come to You for healing and rest. In this world, there is nothing but sorrow and grief but in Your presence there is fullness of Joy (Psalm 16:11).
Forgive me Lord when I don’t seek Your refuge and shelter. Forgive me for trying to brave the storms on my own. Forgive me for waiting until I’m battered and broken to come to You. I know You should be my first priority and not my last resort. When I enter into Your safe-house I am never sorry that I knocked…only sorry that I didn’t do so sooner.
Lord, I pray for those who are being tossed about by the storms of life and are trying to hang on in their own strength. I pray they would run into Your safe-house and find rest.
As I enter into this new week Lord, give me the rest that is needed. Help me to seek Your dwelling place and be renewed, replenished and restored by Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
