“I’m convinced: You can do anything and everything. Nothing and no one can upset your plans. You asked, ‘Who is this muddying the water, ignorantly confusing the issue, second-guessing my purposes?’ I admit it. I was the one. I babbled on about things far beyond me, made small talk about wonders way over my head.” Job‬ ‭42:1-4 MSG‬‬

Heavenly Father, I am completely convinced of Your greatness. You set Your plans long before the world came into existence and nothing or no one can upset them. Even when we don’t understand what You are doing in our life or in this world, You are in control of it all.

Forgive me Lord, when I muddy up the waters and second-guess Your purposes. I am guilty of complaining about things far beyond me –things that only You can know. Your word says,

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

I am so thankful that I serve a God who is far greater than I. A God who is powerful and holy; yet faithful and just. I have experienced seasons of doubt and sorrow but I have also seen You work wonders in my life; things far beyond my comprehension. No matter what the day or week or season of life may bring, help me to remember that Your ways are not my ways and may I trust in Your plans always. In Jesus’ name, amen.
