“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (NLT)
Heavenly Father, thank you for being my strength and my shield (Psalm 28:7). In you I put all of my hope and trust; You remain the strength of my heart. Over and over your word tells us to be strong in You; to put our hope in You; to be strengthened by You. It’s only when we do this that we can mount up on wings like eagles.
Even still, there are times when I stray off course and trust in my own strength; forgive me when I do this Lord. Forgive me for trying to carry all the burdens and worries that this life places on me and allowing myself to become consumed by the cares of this world. Forgive me for becoming impatient with your perfect timing and for trying to manufacture my own path.
I come humbly before you today in all my weakness and lay my burdens at your feet. Renew my heart Lord and give me new strength. Help me to continue running the race you’ve set before me without growing weary. Though I may stumble, I know you will be there to lift me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
