“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.” Psalm 8:3-5 (NIV)
Heavenly Father, all I have to do is look around me to see your workmanship. From the beautiful blooming buds, to the vibrant colors of a summer sunset, to the twinkling of a billion stars across the night sky; all of these declare your glory. I ponder the intricacies of my body–the beating of my heart, the oxygen in my lungs, and the magnitude of the mind and I sit in awe. It’s too great of a thing to know the God of the universe knit every fiber together, knows every hair on my head and collects all my tears in a bottle.
I am so unworthy of your love yet, you love me still. So much so, you sent your Son to die for me. Today I just want to worship and praise you Lord. I want to pour my heart out before you and thank you for all you have done and all you have yet to do. Help me to walk in obedience and to do your will. I give my life back to you as a sacrifice, do with it as you please. In Jesus’ name, amen.
