“Indeed, the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” Luke 12:7 (NIV)
Heavenly Father, how humbling to know that my Creator knows me intimately. How beautiful a thing to know that you are not too great of a God to not be bothered by me. You know my comings and my goings; my flaws and insecurities; my fears and doubts; my dreams and desires; my regrets from the past and my hopes for the future.
Of all of the beautiful things you’ve created on this earth, I am still far above it all in your eyes. Even in my sinful nature, you love me still. Even in my wandering and rebellion, your promises still stand true. Help me to always remember that your desire for me is for good and not evil (Jer 29:11). Help me to remember when my soul is parched, that your word is living water (John 4:14). Help me to remember when I am fearful or anxious that you are with me (Isaiah 41:10). Help me to remember the wonderful gift of salvation. You didn’t send your Son to die for the animals of the sea, or the birds in the sky or the creeping crawling things. Instead, you sent your Son to die for ME. Your desire is to spend time with ME; to bless ME; to comfort Me; to protect Me. Who else could say that about their “god”?
Lord, please go before me the week and help me to meditate on this truth. Help me to keep this as the forefront of my mind. May it help guide my decisions and reactions and may I praise you through it all. In Jesus’ name, amen.
