Heavenly Father, in Honor of this Memorial Day I want to pray over those who serve and protect us. I lift up all the men and women who valiantly serve this great country. I pray for the brave men and women who sacrifice time away from their families, who give up holidays and weekend events, and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their life for our freedom. I ask for protection, comfort and peace to both them and their families. I pray You would form a hedge of protection around them and that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. I pray over our nation and the leaders within it. I pray You would give them wisdom and discernment in the decisions that they make. Continue to raise up faithful servants who will fight for our faith and our freedom.

And most importantly, thank you Lord for laying down your life for my freedom. Help me to live this life in gratefulness and obedience to you. May I never take for granted this gracious gift given to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
