Meditation Monday: The God Who Sees Me

“Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said, “You are the God who sees me.” She also said, “Have I truly seen the One who sees me?”” Genesis‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Heavenly Father, thank you for being a God who sees me. You see me at my best and at my worse, yet You love me the same.

When I feel unloved, unworthy, or unnoticed — You see me. In my sadness — You see me; in my joy — You see me; in my rebellion — You see me. As David said in the Psalms, “Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” (Psalm 139:7) You are a God who promises to never leave or forsake us and I thank you for that.

Not only do you see me but thank You Lord for allowing me to see You. In the deepest darkest depths of my soul You revealed your glorious light to me. Now, as I look around at all creation — I see You; as I look up at the moon and the stars sprinkled across the sky — I see You; as I read your word of truth — I see You.

As I go into this new week and new day, help me to feel Your presence. Reveal Yourself to me in new and wondrous ways. Continue to watch over me and guide me. Give me wisdom and discernment in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, amen.
